Terms for professionals
Last updated: 16 October 2026 · Version pro-terms-2026-10-16
These terms form the agreement between you and Scality Ltd (reg. no. HE459172, VAT CY60062286C, Attikis 3, 401, Larnaca Center, 6045 Larnaca, Cyprus), trading as Ergo, when you use Ergo to receive customer requests (“leads”). The data-sharing addendum is part of these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we use your own data. You can save or print this page at any time, and we email you a copy when your account is activated.
1. Who can join
- Ergo is for businesses and self-employed people offering home services in Cyprus in the course of their trade. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into contracts.
- You confirm that you hold every licence, registration, qualification and insurance your work requires in Cyprus (for example for electrical, gas, AC/refrigerant or pest-control work) and will show proof if we ask.
- What we check: before activating an account we confirm your identity and business contact details and may ask for evidence of registration or licences. We do not inspect your work or guarantee its quality, and we do not describe professionals to customers as “vetted” or “licensed”.
2. How leads work
- A customer submits a request for a service in a city. We match it as described in section 5 send it to your business email address and show it in your professional area (later we may also notify you by SMS or WhatsApp). Keep your email address up to date and your mailbox secure.
- Each lead goes to 3 professionals by default and never more than 5. We use up to 5 only in trades or areas with few active professionals (currently pool maintenance and handyman). Leads are never sold exclusively.
- You contact the customer directly. Any contract for the work is between you and the customer only. We are not a party to it, do not take payment for the work and do not supervise it.
- You must quote honestly, keep to Cyprus consumer law (including clear prices and cancellation rights where they apply), and not ask customers for payment to Ergo.
3. Prices
Free during launch. We may introduce fees later; we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and fees will apply only after you accept them. We never take a commission on the job price: you keep what the customer pays you. Each lead goes to 3 pros by default, never more than 5. Any future prices will exclude VAT; where VAT applies, it is added at the Cyprus rate in force.
3.1 If we introduce fees
- No fees today. Leads are free during launch.
- Before any fee starts, we will set out the fee, what it covers and how it is charged in this section and email it to you at least 30 days in advance. Section 12 also applies.
- Only after you accept. Nothing is charged unless you accept the fee. If you don’t, you simply stop receiving leads once fees start and can leave at any time.
- Founding professionals are professionals who joined during the launch period for their trade and city and are marked as founding in their professional area. They may see each new lead up to 30 minutes before other matched professionals (see section 5).
- A fee never changes your place in matching.
3.2 Invoices and payment
If fees are introduced, how and when we invoice and how you pay will be set out under 3.1 before they apply. If payment is overdue we may pause new leads under section 9 after a reminder.
4. Customer data and your data
- When you receive a lead you become an independent controller of the customer’s details and must follow the data-sharing addendum.
- Data you can access (P2B Art. 9): the leads delivered to you (for 12 months, after which they are deleted), your profile, any invoices, and your complaints. We keep aggregate statistics (such as leads per trade and city and response rates) to run and improve matching. We do not give your personal data or the leads delivered to you to other professionals or third parties, except our IT providers and where the law requires.
- You keep all rights in your business name, logo and descriptions. You allow us to use them only to run Ergo (for example in your professional area and when introducing you to a customer).
5. How matching and ranking work (P2B Art. 5)
Ergo does not show customers a ranked list of professionals. Instead we choose which professionals receive each lead. These are the main parameters, in order of importance:
- Service and city (required). Your profile must list the service requested and cover the city of the job.
- Account status (required). Your account must be active and not paused, restricted or suspended, and (once fees apply) have accepted them.
- Availability. We respect the weekly capacity you set and skip you once it is reached.
- Founding first look. Founding professionals may be offered a lead up to 30 minutes before other matched professionals. This does not increase the number of professionals who receive the lead.
- Fair rotation. Among eligible professionals, those who have received the fewest leads in the last 30 days go first; remaining ties are decided at random.
Payment and ranking (P2B Art. 5(3)): apart from the founding first look above, paying any fee we introduce does not change whether or in what order you receive leads, and there is no way to pay for a higher place. If we ever offer paid placement or boosts, we will add it to this section with at least 15 days’ notice, explain its effect here, and label it clearly to customers as paid (for example “Sponsored”).
Differentiated treatment (P2B Art. 7): Ergo does not offer home services itself and does not compete with you. The only differences in treatment between professionals are the founding first look described in sections 3 and 5.
6. Other things you should know
- We do not sell ancillary goods or services to customers alongside your leads (P2B Art. 6).
- You are free to offer customers different prices or conditions through other channels; nothing in these terms restricts that (P2B Art. 10).
7. Your responsibilities
- Keep your profile, services, cities and capacity accurate. Respond to customers promptly and politely and tell us if you cannot take a lead.
- No spam, harassment, discrimination, misleading claims or fake reviews; do not share login details or pass leads to anyone outside your business.
- You are responsible for your work, your prices, taxes and insurance, and for complying with the law, including consumer and data protection law.
8. Restriction, suspension and termination by us (P2B Art. 4)
We may restrict (for example pause new leads), suspend or terminate your account only for these reasons:
- false or misleading information in your profile or about your licences, registrations or insurance;
- serious or repeated customer complaints that we have checked, such as no-shows, abusive conduct or misleading quotes;
- misuse of customer data or any breach of the data-sharing addendum;
- abuse of the service, such as repeatedly false reports about leads;
- unpaid invoices more than 14 days after a reminder;
- a breach of these terms or the law, or a request from a competent authority;
- long inactivity (no response to leads or messages for 6 months).
Statement of reasons. If we restrict or suspend your account, we tell you before or at the time it takes effect, by email, with the specific facts and the ground above that we relied on. If we decide to terminate, we give you at least 30 days’ notice with the reasons. You can reply or use the complaints process (section 10), and we will reinstate you without delay if the problem is resolved or our decision was wrong. We may act without notice only where the law or an authority requires it, where we have an imperative reason under national law, or where you have repeatedly breached these terms (P2B Art. 4(4)); we still send the reasons, unless the law forbids it.
9. Ending the agreement yourself
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@ergocy.com. Leads already delivered remain payable. After closure, you can still access your invoices and complaint records by asking us; leads delivered to you are deleted under the 12-month rule (P2B Art. 8(c)).
10. Complaints (P2B Art. 11)
Our internal complaints process is free. Email hello@ergocy.com with the subject “Complaint”, or write to us at Attikis 3, 401, Larnaca Center, 6045 Larnaca, Cyprus. You can complain about anything to do with our service, including technical problems, matching, invoices and any restriction or suspension.
- We acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days.
- A person who was not involved in the original decision reviews it and replies in writing within 15 working days, explaining the outcome and reasons.
- Each year we publish a short summary of the number of complaints, main subjects, average handling time and outcomes.
11. Mediation (P2B Art. 12)
If a complaint is not resolved, either of us may suggest mediation. We are willing to mediate in good faith with either of these independent mediators, in English, in person in Nicosia or online:
- Cyprus Arbitration and Mediation Centre (CAMC), 11 Florinis Street, Office 202, 1065 Nicosia, Cyprus (P.O. Box 21446, 1508 Nicosia); tel. +357 22 873300; info@camc.org.cy; camc.org.cy
- Cyprus Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution (Cyprus Center for ADR), Kyriakou Matsi 16, Eagle House, 8th Floor, Agioi Omologites, 1082 Nicosia, Cyprus; tel. +357 22 519741; secretariat@adr.com.cy; adrcyprus.com
Mediation is voluntary. We bear a reasonable proportion of the total costs of each mediation, agreed with you and the mediator, and in any case at least half unless the mediator recommends otherwise. Trying mediation does not affect your right to go to court. On request we will tell you how mediation has worked in practice for our service.
Organisations representing business users may also bring proceedings to stop non-compliance with the P2B Regulation (Art. 14).
12. Changes to these terms (P2B Art. 3)
We will email you any change at least 15 days before it takes effect (longer if you need to adapt your business, and at least 30 days before paid leads start in your trade and city). You can end the agreement before the change takes effect. If you accept a change by a clear action (for example by choosing a new plan), it can apply sooner. Changes required by law or to address an unforeseen and imminent security danger may apply immediately. Changes never apply to leads already delivered.
13. Liability
We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill but cannot guarantee a number of leads, that customers will hire you, or uninterrupted availability. Neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential loss or lost profit. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us in that period, or €100 if higher. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. The courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction, without affecting mediation under section 11.
