What the requests look like

A cleaning request on Ergo tells you the city and area, how many bedrooms and bathrooms there are, whether it is a one-off or a weekly or fortnightly visit, and when the customer wants you to start. Customers can also say whether they expect you to bring products, a vacuum and a mop, or whether everything is already in the flat. Typical jobs include a deep clean before a family visit, an end-of-tenancy clean so a tenant gets the deposit back, a turnover between Airbnb guests with linen to change, and the dust left behind after builders or painters have finished. Office cleaning requests usually mention the floor area and whether the work has to happen after hours. You read all of this before you call, so you can tell straight away whether the job suits a solo cleaner or needs a team of two or three.

Questions from cleaners

How we use your details · All trades

Can I take only regular cleans, or only one-off jobs?

Yes. Tell us in the “About your work” box which kinds of cleaning you want, and set your weekly capacity so the number of new requests matches what your team can handle.

Do customers say if I need to bring products?

Where the customer tells us, the request says whether they expect you to bring products and equipment, so you can work out your price before you call.

Can I work only with holiday-rental hosts?

Yes. Say so when you sign up. Turnover requests normally give the check-out and check-in times, so you can see if the slot fits between your other jobs.

Do you need anything from me as a cleaning business?

Your name or business name, a phone number customers can reach, the areas you cover and the type of cleaning you do. If you employ staff or use subcontractors, you are responsible for them on the job, not Ergo.

Is it free to join?

Free during launch. We may introduce fees later; we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and fees will apply only after you accept them. The full terms for professionals are on the pro terms page.

Do you take a commission?

No. You quote the customer and they pay you directly. We never take a commission on the job price. Ergo is free during launch, with 30 days’ notice before any fees.

Can I choose my cities and how much work I get?

Yes. You pick the services and cities you cover and tell us how many new jobs you can take each week.

How will I receive requests?

Once we’ve reviewed your sign-up, we send matching requests by WhatsApp, phone or email, including the customer’s contact details, which they have agreed to share.

How do I stop receiving requests?

Email us or reply STOP to any message and we stop sending you requests.

What do you do with my details?

We use them to send you requests and run your account. See our privacy policy for what we keep and for how long.
