What the requests look like

Carpentry requests on Ergo come from people moving into new apartments who want fitted wardrobes and storage, from owners of older houses whose kitchen doors, hinges and worktops have worn out, from landlords refreshing a rental between tenants, and from villa owners who want a pergola, decking or wooden shutters for the summer. Each request tells you the city and area, what the customer wants built or repaired, when they want it done and, where they give them, rough measurements and photos of the space. That lets you judge whether it is a workshop job, a fitting job or a quick repair before you call, and whether the customer expects made-to-measure work or simply a good repair. You choose the kinds of carpentry you want and the areas you cover, so you only receive the work you actually do.

Questions from carpenters

How we use your details · All trades

Do customers send measurements?

Many do. The request can include rough sizes and photos. You will usually still want to measure on site before you give a final quote.

Can I take only workshop-made jobs?

Yes. Say in the “About your work” box that you do made-to-measure work, and pick only the job types you want, such as fitted wardrobes or kitchens.

Do you send outdoor timber work?

Yes, if you choose it. Pergola and decking requests come mostly from villa owners, often in spring before the summer.

What if the job is really a handyman job?

Customers sometimes pick carpenter for small fixes. You can decline any request in your dashboard, with no penalty.

What do you need from me to start?

Your name or business name, a phone number customers can reach, the areas you cover and the carpentry you do. A few photos of your work help when customers call you back.

Is it free to join?

Free during launch. We may introduce fees later; we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and fees will apply only after you accept them. The full terms for professionals are on the pro terms page.
